Hi, my name is Erni Nabilah bt Hasni. Seriously, I want to be a teacher, but I never expected that I will study in University Malaysia Sabah, UMS. Most persons want to go to university, right? But, when I was in the airplane from Taiping, I was thinking whether this is the right decision or not? I never stay far away from my mother and I miss her so much right now. Staying far away from my mother was the first thing that I need to do to become a teacher. But, it`s okay. I`m here already, typing a letter to myself and I knew that staying far from my mom is not the only things that I have to do.
For the first week in UMS, all new students have to go to Dewan Canselor (DC) for orientation or we called it as Minggu Suai Mesra (MSM). For those who are staying at Kampung AB and Kampung CD have to walk away from hostel to DC and from DC to hostel everyday. My legs was very pain and I was so tired. I never expected that this is how the campus life. But, it`s okay. Just like what I said before, I knew that stay far away from my mom is not the only things that I have to do, but I will face with many things that needs the strength of mental and physical.
When the class started, third thing that I have to face was, waiting for the UMS bus two hours before the class start, just to make sure I will not be late to the class. Sometimes, i just walk from my hostel to the school because I don`t want to be like sardine in a can in the bus. You know why? Because everybody will start running and fighting when they saw bus came. So, walking away to my school is the fourth thing that I had to do to become a teacher. But, it`s okay, because the campus life had really teach me how to be an independent and a patient person.
